Monday Night Talk 8-19-2013 featuring the first Brockton Mayoral Debate

Mayor Linda Balzotti, School Committee member Bill Carpenter, Ward Councilor Chris MacMillan and local activist Ron Matta are all vying to be the next mayor in the city of Brockton. Monday Night Talk host Kevin Tocci moderates a one hour debate, as WATD managing news director Christine James and WATD reporter Charles Mathewson pose questions to the four candidates on various issues that affect the city. The mayoral candidates will have to hope they can get enough votes on September 17th to be one of two that will be placed on the ballot for November 5th.The audio in this podcast is intended for listening purposes only. Pete, who is the co-host of the Sheppard and Zook show heard Mon-Fri 3-6 p.m. on 1510AM NBC Sports Boston talks about his involvement with the new Discovery Channel television show, Saint Hoods, which showcases three of Boston’s most powerful neighborhood crews, taking viewers to the front lines of the never ending turf war in the city. Saint Hoods is on every Friday night at 10 p.m. Pete also takes a moment to talk about his show and even gives some thoughts on the New England Patriots.

Williams and Spears are looking to hold a public event that will be a town hall style gathering to discuss problems with racial profiling and understanding the African American culture. Planning for the event began soon after a number of peaceful demonstrations were held around the country when George Zimmerman was found not guilty of shooting and killing young Trayvon Martin.
