Brenda and Chris sit down with host Kevin Tocci and Bob Hayes to discuss the upcoming Walk for Hospice, which is being held at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, MA on March 22nd. •Twenty-three years ago, 100 walkers gathered at the Hanover Mall and raised $32,000 for Hospice of the South Shore. That pioneering group has grown, just as the need for Hospice services have grown. The annual Walk for Hospice is an important way to raise funds that help with this mission. Hospice of the South Shore provides special care for patients facing end of life, and for their family members, including teaching them to comfort and care for their loved one and for each other. The Walk for Hospice has a distinct following within the community with consistent corporate sponsors and teams/supporters who participate every year. Brockton Superintendent of Schools Kathleen Smith and Police Officer Nancy Leedberg are special guests during this brief segment on Monday Night Talk! The Superintendent and Officer Leedberg discuss a special forum that is being held on February 26th. A part of the event will focus on the curriculum and instruction, programs and services and operational issues of the Brockton Public Schools. There will also be a NotMYkid presentation that will educate parents about addictions and destructive behaviors so the community can work together to give students the confidence and self-assurance they need to avoid the temptation of drugs, alcohol and destructive decisions. The event is being held at the East Middle School, 464 Centre Street at 6pm.

The group performance featured a 5 minute hip hop performance on the parquet floor of the TD Garden. The money the group raises from each event and has collected more than $15,000 since 2009. Some of the charities they have helped includes Habitat fo Humanity, Camp Summer Stars, Cradles2Crayons and Camp Sunshine. Deb Kirsch is a guest on this installment of Monday Night talk!!! Deb is the owner and trainer at Looking Glass Farm in Middleborough, a full service horse farm with lessons for adults and children and horse training and boarding. She's also the Regional Supervisor for the Southern New England Region (S.N.E.R.) of Pony Club, an national organization serving over 10,000 young people teaching sportsmanship, stewardship and leadership through horsemanship. It works like Little League or 4H for Horse Enthusiasts. Deb was appointed last year to the national board of governors of Pony Club and just returned from a general meeting in Oregon. S.N.E.R. is made up of numerous clubs throughout Southeastern Mass and Rhode Island. S.N.E.R. Juliette began her career as a civil rights attorney, would later move into public safety and homeland security, serving as Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick’s homeland security adviser. After several years overseeing the 8,000-plus member Massachusetts National Guard, the commonwealth’s strategic security planning, and the distribution of homeland security funds she was tapped by President-elect Obama to be part of his transition team before being chosen as Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security.

Alex, Dan and Al discuss the upcoming HUG Foundation event, The Ice Huggers vs the Boston Bruins alumni on January 25th at the Rockland Ice Arena. A portion of the proceeds raised from this event will be used to enter Dan in this year's Boston Marathon, as he will run with his sister to raise money for Children's Hospital.
